A new mandatory STCW competence on Prevention of and Response to Violence & Harassment (including sexual harassment, bullying & sexual assault) has been introduced under the PSSR module of Basic Safety Training (BST).

📌 Key Highlights • Effective from 1 Jan 2026

* 3 additional hours added to PSSR (Total: 29 hours / 4 days)
* Mandatory for all seafarers
* Focus on prevention, reporting & trauma-informed response
* Integrated with Gender Sensitization Training
* Certificate will carry an annotation confirming completion
* Existing seafarers to complete DGS LMS e-learning when ashore

To promote a safe, respectful & inclusive work environment onboard ships, aligned with global STCW standards.
